The hardware is much easier to reverse engineer.

If you mean "much easier than humans" then yes you are correct.

The EVGA Forum Community is not only all about Gaming. This is the "Computer Industry News" Section after all.

Thanks for clarifying that. Let us know if you know anybody here that is looking for "ludicrous speed" processors that feature 22-cores that is meant to handle thousands of jobs at once, and we'll spread on the word. Meanwhile, I will look for information on processors that are suitable for consumers. Hopefully it doesn't have to do with advertisements that are debuting new released items.

5000 dollars is a lot to pay for a processor but with 22 cores I suppose that is what one would expect.

Stalinx, I really don't understand why you choose to have that mentality.  It's for commercial application, there are several fields that can use this.  Just like there are several commercial uses for that NVIDIA DGX SaturnV you posted in the Industry News forum.  There are uses for this type of hardware regardless whether you "believe" it or not.

So, what's next? Are they going to release a 30 core processor, just keep on stacking more cores on top of each other? Meanwhile, mankind hasn't even able to develop programs that can use a quad core "efficiently" enough, for the consumer level. Arguable, but it's true. It's almost becoming a joke the way they're releasing these CPUs. Why can't they have a core able to do 4 jobs at once, or 8 jobs at "ludicrous" speed? They have "hyper-threading", but why can't they have it where each core does "more than hyper-threading"? Seriously... WTH. Again, lets' just stack more cores on top and make the consumers think they got something big...

cough...cough

there is linux

Not our fault windows doesn't get it (or wants to for that matter)
Microsoft has always wanted businesses to pay per core for there OS - that changed when Multi core chips came - but the same reasoning is STILL AT M$
any more and they want you to pay more

they have hated multi chip server boards 2 socket and 4 socket for that reason

do you realize that windows Home or windows plain jane OS is NOT THEIR PROFESSIONAL software (meant for BUSINESS - but some of them are consumer users)
i have WIN 10 PRO - and the rumor mill is Windows has plans to go to licensing for that down the road - so they want to stick it to Businesses

the dif between plain jane and PRO - is MEMORY management(can address more ram) and multiple CHIPS(up to 2 or 4)
any more they want you on windows server software -and you pay per chip

Here I am, spread the word!!! I have 300 cores in my house. Put 500 cores on a chip, make it run at 2.4ghz or over and do it for 1000$ I will buy 6 of them right now.
3000 cores OH my. I could put 10,000 cores to work 100% load 24/7

XrayMan Thanks for the news on the new Intel Zeon CPU.

bcavnaugh, it's ok to shed light on the types of businesses who would use this type of hardware if someone doesn't understand how it fits.

Several threads in the Computer Industry News forum don't apply to regular consumers - that's not the point.  The point is to introduce Computer Industry News and that's exactly what Xray and others have done in this forum (regardless of the type of user it's for).

Personally, I think it will be interesting to see how far Intel can push it.

They would make a great CPU for BOINC Projects but at an above a normal cost.
