Not sure why it happened, but man it's annoying the crap out of me.  My 1080 is a folding monster, but it just sits on failed all the time right now.

Point of the thread. 375 series of drivers broke folding on Pascal and maxwell cards.

I'm entirely aware of what and why, my point was how Nvidia let it happened and still hasn't fixed it, not confusion as to the cause. 

The drivers are so complex at this point I'm not sure Nvidia knows what tweak broke folding. Probably some optimization they made caused it. If it were obvious they'd have fixed it by now. The other oddity is only 900 and 1000 series cards are affected. These kind of problems are hard to track down. I doubt we'll see this fixed anytime soon.
