I think the enthusiast, carbon based goop's that are fully nonconductive, are fairly similar at this point.
A healthy glob of Arctic MX-4 got temps in Tomb Raider (the game I own that runs the hottest) 5-6c lower on my 1070 SC when I did the pad mod just last night. Also a far slower ramp-up time to full temp (it creeps to full temp) and an idle temp of 30-31c! So that's nice.
Now that I have taken a GPU apart I have no worries about doing so in the future and replacing the factory goop with something better.
