i noticed some strange behavior on my EVGA GTX 1070 SC:
When i quite a Game, and my fans spins while im playing, the fans turn off
when temp is under 60°C.
Fine so far.
When i close OCX (Version 6.0.7) the fans starts spinning again up to 1200 rpm on top,
then slowly shut down again down to 0 rpm.
I noticed that, because i heard the fans and i saw the PWM and RPM on my HW Monitor.
 
Is that normal?
Someone else noticed that behavior?
Bdw im running on latest driver and BIOS updates.

Running multiple GPU monitoring tools can cause problems. Just use one at a time to avoid that.

Nope thats not the solution.
Tried again only with OCX.
Same problem.
Fans go down to 0 RPM first, then i close the OCX and i saw the fans speed up again.
I opened OCX again and yepp, they run at 700 rmp randoomly, at 50°C...
After few seconds fans are at 0 rpm again...
creeps my out a bit..

Version 6.0.7 is two versions behind. EVGA Precision XOC 6.0.9 Released is the Current Version.

My GTX 750 ti SC used to drastically rev up the fan after quitting some games then rev down after a few seconds until stopped like normal.
 
I wouldn't worry about it. Probably only a small bug.

I agree that it is probably a bug with precisonX. Does it do the same thing when closing out MSI's Afterburner? https://www.msi.com/page/afterburner 

i do not use afterburner
I have a msi board, but i thought i should use ocx cause i got an evga graphics card..
do you have the same "problem"
its just a minor bug i know..

I use an AIO cooler and not the stock cooler on my 1080 ACX 3.0 base model, so no I don't have that problem.
 
Didn't you say that the revving occurs with PrecsionX? Why not just try afterburner to see if the problem is still there?

pssssh....its called turbo mode! all the rage these days. On a serious note, and a real solution would be to fully remove precision X (from registry as well), and try afterburner. Afterburner will work with ALL brand cards. Honestly no hard feelings but I do not like EVGA precision X or the ASUS OCtool (messy, and unprofessional gamer grade UI that I cant stand) . I am using an ASUS gtx 1080 Strix with afterburner without any problems. Once Afterburner is downloaded, make a custom fan profile, and I believe that will solve your problem.

Yeah very strange.
Once i quit a game, card cools down, fans at 0 RPM says ocx, close ocx
fans starts spinning again.
opened ocx, fans go low again down to 0.
fans spins again, opened ocx, fans go low again.
and thats it. after closing a 3rd time, fans stays at 0rpm...
 
may i try afterburner?
also with a pascal graphics card? hmm....
