Evening Kids,

Same as Ugugu and his post here

http://forums.evga.com/Flaws-in-evga-design-and-poor-quality-control-home-made-fix-m2575202.aspx

I was sick and tired of waiting on the thermal pads from EVGA, and the never ending pending shipment status. Therefore, got my own thermal pads from performance-pc's and did the fix already.

I bought two of my favorite brands thermal grizzly and fujipoly and ended up using the fujiploy 2.0mm and the 1.5mm pads

you can watch the video from the link below

I know its not perfect with no sound but just might help some people mod it themselves till/if they get the pads from EVGA

Cheers
DS

Nice job.  Waiting to see difference in temperatures.  I have the EVGA pads installed right now, but people complaining they are not thick enough.  Just wondering if they are doing it's job.

Haven't noticed a difference besides the fan getting louder which is weird.

Right, I shall do my own DIY as well. sick of waiting for EVGA to dispatch out the thermal pads. First card from EVGA and they botched it. Great job

Also sick of waiting. Ordered some pads from amazon myself. I always bought evga since the 8800gt and this is my last evga card, full-stop.

did you use 2mm pad for stock vrm pad replacement??
is the stock vrm pad 1.5mm??

very nice video but i dont know why the video is mute.
to remove the midplate, backplate must be removed first, so after installing thermal pads on the back of the pcb, dont mount the backplate first if you need to take off the midplate then.

The question on my mind is if the EVGA MOSFETS strip pad will still make contact with the plate after swapping to the thicker VRAM pads we will receive from EVGA.

there is no replacement for the stock mosfet strip pad from evga thermal pad mod, and i suggest you replace this by your own with thicker pad.
