How did some people get tracking numbers? They ordered after I did and got it before me.

Mine were shipped USPS from Brea, CA.  I suspect all going to US addresses will be shipped the same way, but those going to other countries may originate elsewhere or use a different carrier.
 
If you have a "My USPS" account at usps.com, you can see a list of all trackable shipments destined for your address.  Just look for a package from Brea, CA -- and you can get the tracking number from there.
