And this is a good example of why I no longer purchase games on day one.

PC games typically do not have Day One Patches like XBox or PS4. This is due to XBox and PS4 having to have the entire game on disc for installation. And those disc have to be ready long before the release of the game. So what they do is create the discs and then continue working on the game and release a patch to catch anything they miss. With PC companies will typically work up until it has to be loaded onto the digital depo for download. Which means for most that the "Day One Patch" with fixes is already included in the files.

I've played only about an hour. I've modded the profile with NVIDIA Inspector to enable SLI. I've also changed the other settings that most are recommending, like pre-rendered frames to 1 and Maximum Performance power setting. Game still runs like crap to be honest. G-Sync isnt working either. MSI Afterburner reports a decent framerate most of the time, but it just "feels" laggy. Hopefully they patch it soon...

That makes sense.

I personally loved the first game. Im hoping to love the second as well but for the meantime I will not purchase it until improvements are made.

I liked the first one also  but I haven't even finished the DLC's I have for that yet - so I can wait on this game to be patched & drop in price...
