I built my first rig from scratch last month, and I've been tweeking the fan curves and performance to try to get it to run quieter.

I went with a even though I'm only running one(1) GTX 1070 & a (not-yet-overclocked) 6600K because I figured it was worth an extra $20 to get a 10-year warranty & my system use would be more efficient . However, it turns out that the PSU cooling fan is easily the most noisy thing in my tower, even when the computer is running in idle. I didn't realize that at the time of purchase, but my assumption that the "+50C ambient @ full load" printed right on the thing meant that it wouldn't have to lean on the fan to achieve similar thermas at mid-range power loads.

Is there any way to dampen the sound on this thing? Or should I see if it's still covered under NCIX's return policy?

Hello,

I am sorry to hear that. Does the fan simple sound loud or is there an unusual noise such as clicking or buzzing?

There is a regular mechanical sound under the regular fan noise, but the fan itself is the thing I can hear from the next room when the computer is simply sitting at the login screen.
Also, while we're on the topic of shoddy EVGA design, my original posting had the name of the PSU as a link to the product page, and there was also linked text to an efficiency curve, and while they showed up in the "Preview" window for posts, they both appear to have been deleted wholesale from the original posting. What kind of garbage programming is that?
What the hell is even happening here??
