Will have to see I guess.  My #1 metric at this point is reliability - trouble-free "it just works"  aside from performance of course, and that is why I'd rather get Kingpins back.

IMO, on air the kingpins aren't the most reliable cards you can choose.

''The only 1080 model I see anywhere close to features of my Kingpins (power phases, RGB LED, performance, etc.) is the 1080 Classified, but even these are about $300 apiece cheaper than what I paid for my 980 Ti Kingpins''

I guess that goes to show just get the best card in the average price range  so if something as this comes up   you at least stay with in a average price of a card ?  then your feelings aint so hurt

kinda makes the sc or scc  a good deal  when you look at it as that  then if evga offered a 1080 fe  in exchange   your pretty much on level   [opinion]

@Saijin said, kingpins are not reliable on air. I still have mine bought it 2nd hand. Still switch back to my 980ti classy. I prefer those kingpins at least on water.

Interesting that you both say that - I bet that's why EVGA didn't do a 1080 Kingpin.

I wish they could make at least a Hybrid Kingpin.

Kingpins shouldn't really ever be run on air, imo. They are specialty sku's that should really only be run on water at the very least or ln2 runs etc...  Its more of a benchmarking thing than a everyday workhorse. If you want the best for everyday gaming/working and benchmarking than the classified is what you should be buying. You would think EVGA would tell people that by now in a advisory when listing it to save themselves and the customer the headaches that inevitably come down the road with RMA's.
