That's good to hear :) Was a little worried about my pending RMA and supply issues for my 1070 FTW.

Indeed. coming up to a week since I had the RMA approved, it all went quiet hence I dropped support a mail. Thought it a bit odd EVGA would be sat there with no parts to put graphics cards together!

In fact both of you think that this is not a real issue this overheating but you both ask RMA too ?

I've replied to some of the threads you've posted in, and the one you started. I think it is an issue, as we saw from FLIR testing in Battlefield 1 (popular pc game, not power virus), leaving the card as it ships from the factory - standard bios and fan curves results in the VRM being around 14°C hotter than the core reading (72°C). For someone like myself, who has a gsync 144hz monitor, you don't use vsync, and so my core temp was 82°C. From that, you could theorise, based on the FLIR results that I've been gaming for the last month or so with VRAM at ~96°C. Maybe my VRAM isn't even touching the thermal pads, so could explain previous artifacts, though I haven't seen them after the bios flash, whether that's the micron fix or higher fan profile, don't know.

so yeah, hoping to get a brand new card with all the mods and be free of worry, time will tell!

82 temp vas with original bios ?

yep, original bios, standard fan profile, vsync off, 2560x1440 resolution and about 80-85% Power target/TDP in games.

Managed to shave that back to about 77°C now, but takes a massive 70% fan to do it, and I've got a huge 230mm fan blasting the whole case through, with a H100i in the roof dragging hot air out, plus a single 120 at the rear.

well, lets not get ahead of ourselves :-p but yes, hopefully soon!

UPS estimates a delivery day of wednesday next week. which couldn't come sooner, as after an extended gaming session last night, I now have artifacting even just on the windows desktop.

sooner i get rid of this card the better!

I'm in the UK - they're shipping from Germany, might be worth asking rjohnson to give them a nudge if they say there is a supply issue!

Well I know I gots da demand  ^_^

Is there an average wait time for once a RMA gets to the pending shipment part of the process?

I'm not really desperate as I have my old MSI 970 but it would be nice to be using the card I bought over the holidays.

Just and FYI for people that had my same question.  The RMA shipped a day after I posted that question on the 16th

Thank you EVGA now I will be defending the Commonwealth over the Holiday weekend in style on my fixed up 1070
