I got mine yesterday and maybe 3-4 days after I got the shipment email. USPS bubble mailer. Should be under a week for most people.
The mod might actually be challenging for people who are not handy. And be careful with some of the screws because they are soft and strip easy. There are two sets of instructions and I used the Gamers Nexus tutorial video on youtube which they did before the vram pads were included so I had the thing buttoned back up before I realized I screwed up and would have to take it all apart again. So overall it took me two hours - but I was in no rush, just listening to music and swearing at myself. And on my 1070 SC the vram pads were touching all the chips already and the replacements are the same thickness, but strips. So you might not need to do that step.
Overall my temps are lower but that of course has to do with the healthy glob of Arctic MX-4 that replaced the old goop. Im seeing temps in Tomb Raider (the game I own that runs the hottest) that are 5-6c lower, a far slower ramp-up time to full temp (it creeps to full temp) and an idle temp of 30-31c! So that's nice. Now that I have taken a GPU apart I have no worries about doing so in the future and replacing the factory goop with something better. So that's also nice.
