installed the new power link that evga was generous enough to send us. went very smooth. tried to add a pic but image shack and photo bucket aren't cooperating thanks evga! you guys are the best!

I canceled my free power link because of teh insane shipping price, for a single plastic adapter i would have to pay almost 20 euro or at worst scenario a 27.99 :D. once I saw that I said no thanks you can keep your plastic toy.

The shipping cost is crazy high. I am debating whether or not 10$ is worth cables being hidden. I think I am going to buy it. Just wish I didn't have to pay 10$. 3 or 4$ would of been more like it.

Well retail cost is expected to be around $29, so $10 is a pretty decent deal anyway.

my only concern in seeing that picture, is does this block the air flow into the end of the card from the case fan?

Looks great man!!! Congrats to all that have received them, I am hoping it will look good and not too big with watercooled blocks.  As soon as I can get my payment e-mail and pay and get them here I will post pics of this with EK blocks.

Also to all crying about shipping what you should do is volunteer your time to go to EVGA and prepare and ship these and maybe they be cheaper!! The product is gonna retail for $29.99, just wait and you can buy it for 29.99+shipping cost.  Do the math and than think which you would rather pay.   I have said it soo many times in this forum it is amazes me people will not hesitate to spend $600+ on a single video card but $9 shipping is too much for a free item

Man, that does look good.  Is there anyway to check the ETA on shipping?  I hope it ships soon, but haven't received any paperwork or payment info.

You'll get an email with a link to pay with CC or paypal - $9.99.

I was hoping shipping would be less. Guarantee I could ship that for $2.50. I manage a warehouse that ships globally so I have a pet peeve over inflated shipping charges. Also, my gut feeling tells me this was a product run that they won't ever sell, for whatever reason, and they want to recoup some money on that. Whatever. Im more concerned that all these issues killed some resale value that I will count on to upgrade a couple years down the road. I guess Im lucky enough to have Samsung vram.

Don't get me wrong, Im not freaking out over these issues but plenty of other people are. The 970 3.5 meme still hasn't died. PCMR pretends to be a logical bunch.

You think a PowerLink on a 1070 SC would fit in an Air 240 case?

That's kind of the only reason I decided to spend the $10. I intended on doing a micro build in the future and this may come in handy. Other than that, it just appears to block a good portion of the PCB from front air intake getting on the card and even possibly between the plates to help keep temps down. I doubt I will use it on my current build that has two front fans less than seven inches from the card, on a fan curve to spin up when needed.

I paid roughly $100 over MSRP. That's on me and EVGA is not responsible for price gouging. Still, something free would have been nice. Especially after all this headache over the thermal issues that will almost certainly become a factor when I resell it. And no, I don't consider $10 for something that weighs a few ounces as a favor. It screams UPS inflated pricing when USPS could get that done for $2.50 and have it to me in a few days.
