Can a DisplayPort cable just "go bad" though? I'm using the one that came with the monitor. Has worked fine for about four months with two computers (and the games that are causing problems now). That's why I've been leaning towards this being more of a software/drivers/OS issue of some sort.

Yes, DP cables can have issues, even if they are "certified".
But it is just a possibility to explore (if someone can lend you one... )

Tried the braid demo. No problems here.

No idea. Maybe something different in demo version? Something else different between our systems that we're not accounting for? Doesn't change the fact that, in my situation, disabling G-SYNC for the affected games stops the issue for me.

BTW, can add Final Fantasy XIII-2 to the list of games that do this. Yet another game where I can't specify the refresh rate in the game, so that theory still holds.

Do you experience the problem using the demo version?

Tried changing the Preferred refresh rate setting to Application-controlled for each game .exe, and it also solves the problem for each. So they don't like the combination of G-SYNC and forcing a higher refresh rate. Turn either setting off, and they're all fine when quitting.

As I have the full version, haven't tried the demo.

I have this issue too, Maxwell GPU here. Fix ---> Go right into your GSYNC options and turn GSYNC to use during windows and full screen. This worked for me. I have found the issue to be strictly Windows 10 related. Typical issues coming from Windows 10.

The problem is windows 10 keeps assuming that you have multiple monitors. It's a flaw with Windows. It constantly tries to override Nvidia's drivers and settings.

Others have reported that pulling your cable out and plugging it back in has worked too.

Some have also reported that running DDU, wiping your current drivers, and reinstalling the latest drivers have also fixed the problem. However, I have done this in the past, but the issue eventually comes back. So far setting GSYNC to run in windows and during full screen has suppressed the issue.

The black screen only occurs on the exit of a specific game, and doesn't always happen on certain titles, right?

.................... Until now, EVGA forums is the only site that suggested to have the refresh rate set to application controlled, rather than forcing max refresh rate. I'll try this as well.

good to know. I'm definitely going to try this when I get home. Thanks.
Didn't mean to take over the thread, it just so happens I have been having this same issue and you're the only person on the entire net that has suggested to try setting the NVidia settings to run the refresh rate at the application's refresh rate.

There is one problem by setting the refresh rate to application. Imported games that have a fixed refresh rate, then that's what you're stuck with. It kills the gaming experience, especially with games that run at 30fps. When you set it to run at your monitors maxed refresh rate, the game(s) will go at the fps. Otherwise the game will be locked at the application's refresh rate, and if the game was made at 30fps, it's a real buzz kill. I will attest that setting GSYNC to run in full-screen and window fixes the issue.
