Seems  the company I bought it from has had several issues and they have promptly refunded me. If they get more complaints they are going to approach EVGA if they havent alrerady on safety and recallof defective items grounds.

Why post such a useless thread? EVGA doesn't need to do a recall they have already offered a solution to the problem at hand and offered to RMA any card that has issues.

So is their Dad from where you purchased it, bigger than EVGA'S Dad?

Evga should do a recall on the SC/FTW cards with how many issues they are having...
It's literally 33% of all SC/FTWs are defective out of the box! These are horrifying statistics!! Never will I ever buy a aftermarket PCB GPU from EVGA, not after reading dozens of accounts of RMAs on those cards, everything from fan issues, to overheating, to not running stable at stock clocks. What the hell, this is not normal of EVGA at all! I think after reading all these complaints I may even look at Asus or MSI for my next GPU, at least their aftermarket PCB's aren't all being sent back!

33%? 1 out of 3 cards?  I would have thought the forums would have been a LOT busier with a LOT more negative posts on this site and other sites.  Now - I hope that is not like the percentages reported on the News sites about the U.S. election.  If I told those guys on those sites once I've told them a ba-ZILLION times - don't exaggerate.

70% of the people posting on the site recently are just here to stir up crap.  I can posted baseless facts too.  Where is your proof?

A recall needs to be done. 100% of the cards require the VRM thermal pad modification as well as replacing the VRAM pads.
It really is amazing that EVGA did not do thermal spectrum analysis of any of these cards to diagnosis hot spots. They could have easily caught this disaster.

No - 100% of the cards do not require this.  EVGA stated that this is optional...optional does not mean required.

I have a 1080 FTW...without any mods...running great since July.  So...that's 1 card out...so not 100%
