I have a few Hall of Fame over on *Sorry Never was big on K-Boost you can see my scores listed under bcavnaugh
Same user name here as well http://www.modsrigs.com/topRating.aspx You can do a Search on my rigs here Link
I am also not an Extreme Gamer or at Benchmarking I doing it for the fun mostly.
I have used MSI AB and ASUS Overclocking tool as well and did not care to use them, even though they may be better than what EVGA has to offer.
The reason I posted what I did is because their are 4 of 5 Threads the provide the answers to what the OP is asking about and you as well. Their are also ones for EVGA's other tools that have fixes posted in the Threads.
Best of luck getting the tools that you need working and if it MSI AB that is fine as we do have a lot of MSI AB users here as well.

I am not sure what that has to do with the stability of precision X. Some get lucky, many do not. The last time I had run precision X (when I first got this GTX 980) my system ran great for a while until I tried OCing for this game I had. It crashed my whole system immediately, so upon the advice of others I went to Afterburner, and had no problems with stability after that.

Thanks for replies... guess i'll go to the dark side until a solid compatible version can be used with win10. I've always used Precision x with all my systems ( including win10 systems ), so i guess to my surprise the issues i was having with such a trusted product.  Thanks again

Are you OCing any? There is no real need for software like this if you are not OCing the card any.

Yes, you do.  In fact, it appears that they had to enlarge the Hall just for you.

This really is not helping, my intent was not to be bragging but that I do play around.
If Members would review some of the Treads that we now have they will get the answer they are asking for.
We repeat the same question and post the answer over and over and still Members post the same questions.

trilegdog  Can you please delete the Text between [image] [/image] in your Post.
Thank you.

Sure thing.

(but to be precise, there is no "[image] [/image]", only [image] used for brevity).

It was simply some light-hearted humor directed at the posting error, not taken as bragging.

Keep up the good work.

No overclocking yet  but as my OP stated i am running 2x1080 classifieds,  that are SLI'd and the temperature difference between both cards is almost forty Celsius apart because of the non- existent spacing between cards ( poorly designed motherboard situation, classified. )  Adding the fact these cards put out the heat... almost to over whelming for them so close and no water cooling solution on the horizon.  I did for kicks bump up overclock on my cpu to 4.6 which was stable but had to watch the temps on the cards, meaning i couldnt finish playing even thirty minutes of gaming as i watched the temps get into i feel dangerous ranges of almost 85 to 90 Celsius with fans running at 100 percent full no automatic but gaming was beautiful to play.  Thanks for replies

Dose precision work if you set your cpu clocks to stock?

Precision does not work at all... it is installed and run as an administrator turns on and ten seconds later errors out.  I tried older version seem to work for a while. Newer version did not work on completely fresh install of windows 7 or after upgrade to win 10
I dl'd Afterburner and it seems to be working meaning I use it to control temperature and not worry with how much graphical power it outputs, but as i am seeing right now running game... its not conforming like precision xoc does.  Hence the overkill of components to achieve results i'm looking for.
Thanks again for ideas

What do you mean exactly by "its not conforming like precision xoc does"?

I am not sure which classified MB you have but everyone I looked at has more than two PCIe slots. From what I have seen on the EVGA classified boards the first card goes in the 1st slot and the second goes in either the last slot or the second to last slot. If your setup is like that and you are still getting high temps then you may need to think about possibly adding some fans to blow towards your two cards, alternatively I have heard of others leaving the side of their case open with a floor or desk fan blowing right into the case. The final option is of course going for water cooling.

I am still on my GTX 980 and I am now waiting on the 1080Ti's with water blocks, once they are in I will compare prices and performance to the normal 1080's and decide which card is best for me.

I am not sure what results you are looking to achieve but with the temps you are getting and pushing them to run hard until they crash, you may be getting the burnt out graphics card achievement soon....

Okay made some head way into why PXOC is not working after install.  I have gotten the program to work by first removing SLI settings in Nvidia and only using one screen and ALSO removed  NEW SLI Bridge between the cards and holy crap PXOC installed and did not crash.
First step complete.

Now going to try reinstall bridge and reconfigure to sli ....

I'll be back
