So I've installed the 1070/1080 hybrid kit on my EVGA 1070 SC a few days back, but found that the stock radiator fan ran at full speed all the time and was way too loud. So I've swapped it out with a nice static pressure fan just this morning. Now I realized why the stock fan was at full speed: the GPU block and pump is loud on its own. I grabbed a sound meter app on my smartphone, so it isn't the most accurate reading, but the peak level was about 50-53Db. This is significantly louder than the ACX cooler, even at 50% speed. I expected that an AIO cooler would be just as quiet or even quieter than an air cooling setup. Did I install it wrong? It's clearly pushing heat through the radiator, and the replacement fan is brand new. I've mounted the radiator at the top of my case, by the way.
