I just got an e-mail from EVGA stating that they have fixed the fan surging issues and will need to RMA my old card to send me the new one that has the fix.

"Just wanted to let you know that we’ve resolved the fan issue and I’ll be submitting and approving your RMA for you here shortly. I apologize for the delay while we worked on a resolution for this."

So it looks like they are starting to accept RMA's for 1080 SC's with fan issues. Hopefully their fix is working!

If this is the case, then why the hell did they RMA my card just last week if they hadn't found a solution yet? Just to make a quick $30 off the EAR I paid them to send me a card with the same problem? Or I'm guessing not all support staff were made aware of this. I even referenced the forum posts of other people reporting the problem in my ticket so when they approved the RMA I assumed they had resumed RMA's for that problem. This is not customer support worthy of a $650 investment.

I got my new 1080 SC today. My third 1080 SC card. Surging issues are completely fixed. Not a single surging fan when playing games today. So happy!

Got a new 1080sc as part of my step up today. Hopefully I don't experience these issues.
