  • Did Evga change its 1080/1070 ftws with thermalpads implemented ones in Amazon.com? (p.2)

Nothing's going to burn unless all you do is loop benchmarks.  My point was very limited - if they're calling the thermal mod optional then including it in every new shipping board isn't consistent with that.

Though I read they were putting thermal pads on all ACX for now on im not 100% on this though. If would be pretty stupid if they didn't regardless if they think they don't need them.

^^

Yeah I read the same statement and yes it would be amazingly stupid. I'm trying to get to know about the stocks in Amazon.com but amazon live chat guys don't know anything about this issue. I sent a mail to

Yea that is tough question might want to wait little bit. I would give EVGA a call see what they say im not sure if they recalled from retailers.

Please do and ask about amazon too man ^^ I would call myself but since I'm not in USA and neither in EU that will be hard.

Agreed 110%. I swear this has blown well out of proportion and reeks of mass-hysteria.

My card is running as 39C on idle right with 1350 RPM right now. Something is certainly wrong with these cards cooling.

GPU temp has always been fine.  It is the VRM temp that is at issue...

How did you come to that conclusion?  You realize it's only measuring the GPU core temp right?  Which is completely unrelated to vrms - the subject of all this discussion.

This is exactly why people are scared now - you have a couple of clowns spreading FUD (not you) and now people are thinking everything is wrong with temps when that's not the case.

Unless we see your system and the cooling config, nothing can be determined from the above screenshot.

I stand corrected regarding the thermal pads.  Apparently, tech support is saying as follows:

I just called to play devil's advocate. The rep said if you are still within 30 days of purchase..you can RMA and receive a new card with thermalmod and new bios pre-installed. Otherwise after 30 days...refurb....
