Hi guys, I just bought and EVGA GTX 1080 FTW ACX 3.0 08G-P4-6286-KR in October 20 then all vrm heating issues exploded. 1 or 2 days ago EVGA said the cards that they provide after November 1 will include thermal pads and updated vbios. So 1-2 hours ago I contact with Amazon.com and started a replacement then I notice the item that they replace with mine has the same model number: 08G-P4-6286-KR I contacted with EVGA support about this and they said model name will stay same but they said the best way to check to see if it does have the updates, would by by going to the Guest RMA and entering the serial number. So I can't get the serial number before I get my replacement since serial number is on the boxes. Anyone now if the stocks are changed in Amazon with updated ones?

That was preliminary information.  Subsequently, the only update they've indicated that will happen is that new units will get is the vbios update - no thermal pads.

Yeah but they said after 1 november they included the thermalpads into cards?

EVGA has not made any final statement about new shipping cards - the earlier statement was preliminary and subsequent to that statement, the "fix" changed - fan speeds were significantly throttled down from the preliminary fix and still bring VRMs well into the acceptable range.  Unless EVGA explicitly now (after the vbios release) announce that thermal pads are included in all shipping cards from here on out, my understanding is that they will not be included.

Thought I read they were putting thermal pads on all ACX for now on im not 100% on this though. If would be pretty stupid if they didn't regardless if they think they don't need them.

Yeah I read the same statement and yes it would be amazingly stupid. I'm trying to get to know about the stocks in Amazon.com but amazon live chat guys don't know anything about this issue. I sent a mail to

Fair enough.  If support told you for sure that they would be included, maybe they will be included.  I'm still skeptical until EVGA explicitly now say that this is still the case - there's been a lot of conflicting info out there.

For example, if they include the pads, then the thermal mod is no longer "optional" and it's silly to call it that.  If new shipping models include the thermal mod, then all current owners should be able to swap out for units with the thermal mod if they don't want to do it themselves.  It would not be the smartest business move - if I was EVGA, I would walk back quickly from any statement that thermal pads will be included or their claimed "fix" of only vbios is disingenuous.

Yea that is tough question might want to wait little bit at least till current stock sells out. I would give EVGA a call see what they say im not sure if they recalled from retailers.

Yeah you are right about that, we all see what they said to me. They need to call all these cards back before all of them start burning.
