Yeah I have it running at 100% fan speed during gaming and it hits 83c still

Founders cooler is absolute garbage no matter how good airflow is.

Why wouldn't you just get hybrid kit sub 50c temps, silent and higher stable boost clocks. I put on my 2 FE night day difference.

If you got ACX you will still have to take card completely apart.  ACX uses different cooling plate.

I have the room but I don't know how to mount it to my HDD cages. I have some fans there now and I've seen people who have the hybrid 980ti mounted there but I just don't know how to.

If you take pic of your setup maybe we can help you out.

The install is pretty straight forward. My rad/fan setup is a push-pull configuration in a Fractal Define R5 case.

Heini2You can swap the coolers but you'll have to find some one selling an ACX3. It won't happen this time around but I still have my fingers crossed that EVGA will sell an ACX3 so I can air cool a Titan XP.
Aren't the PCBs different?

I put an ACX3 from a 1080 SC on a 1080 FE with no modifications. AS long as the cooler doesn't come from an FTW or Classified it will be a direct replacement. The Titan XP will require a dremel tool on the ACX3 cooler's base plate but but it's only minor surgery.

Did you install a kit or did you purchase the reference hybrid 1080 card?

I'm trying to get vBIOS for the reference 1080 hybrid model.

I installed the Hybrid kit on my 1070 sc. If you're comfortable building a pc, this will be a piece of cake. Took me less than 30 mins total. EVGA has a great setup/tutorial video, plus a ton of tutorials out there on youtube.

Not really The PCB is Smaller than the FTW that uses the ACX 3 Cooler, their is no way to Mount it.

@mojoeman265 Can you Post a Photo of your Computer with the Side Cover Off so we can see how your card is Mounted.
I have two Reference Cards with Blower Style Cooler and while I run up as high as you at 83C my Cards are running 7x24 @2025 MHz and the temps float between 67C and 78C.
I have OCX Set to 124% and the Temp Set to 86C. The max for the Card is 92C

If you have the space, I urge you to install a hybrid cooler. Installed one on my 1070 SC Wednesday night and haven't been happier.

Holy crap! Nice temps! Mine sits at 30 degrees on idle! lol
Never goes above 56 though, and thats with fans at roughly 50%
