So I own a EVGA GTX 1080 Founders Edition and it just gets too hot. I want to know if I can purchase the ACX 3.0 cooler for my card. I know you can buy the hybrid cooler but I don't want to buy that I just want the ACX cooler.

Nope. How hot is your card running? Did you try increasing the gpu fan speed with msi afterburner/precision xoc?

Yeah I have it running at 100% fan speed during gaming and it hits 83c still

What case do you have, how is your airflow in it? Any additional fans added? Could try reapplying the TIM if you are comfortable in doing that.

I have a Corsair C70 and the airflow is fine. Just wanted to know if you could replace the stock cooler with an ACX cooler from the SC 1080

You can swap the coolers but you'll have to find some one selling an ACX3. It won't happen this time around but I still have my fingers crossed that EVGA will sell an ACX3 so I can air cool a Titan XP.

Why don't you want a Hybrid cooler? I have one on my FE and temps never exceed 45C. Typically hover around 40-43C. It's an awesome cooler.

If you have the space, I urge you to install a hybrid cooler. Installed one on my 1070 SC Wednesday night and haven't been happier.
