Hello!

Playing BF1 my Classified reaches 61C with a fan speed of 70% and I cant hear the card over the case fans. When I have headphones on I dont hear anything but the game Im playing. Why you all getting your knickers in a bunch?

That was an early solution before finalized, but the final is around 2000 RPM during Furmark (normal gaming will be lower). During Furmark it is necessary for the fans to spin at 2000RPM. Normal gaming will be quite a bit lower.

Being the practical person I am while I await pads, even though I am water cooled, I uninstalled all my Futuremark stuff :P

Not Futuremark. Futuremark is fine. Furmark is the problem. Completely different programs.

OTT Virus based benchmarks should not be ever used. I see it as continually revving your car's engine to the max and then to never expect any problems.

Stop "playing" FurMark, problem solved.

Doesn't EVGA Precision X use the same sort of test as FurMark for its OC scanner?

Yes it is similar. I think the big difference is it doesn't use nearly as much "fur" so less heat, it is limited to 2 hour runs for safety, and it has artifact detection so you know when you are on the edge. But personally I wouldn't run that either.

So during normal gaming it's something between 1600 and 2000. That is still going to be louder than all your competitors, isn't it? Also we still have to buy new pads for the RAM, since they are not included in the Thermalmod. So you have the loudest or one of the loudest cards on the market and we still might need to fix the thermal pad situation ourselves.

I wonder, do you live under a bridge? Because that's where most trolls collect their bounty Gat

I have 1080 FTW. After the BIOS update, even during normal gaming, I find it way too loud. Had to go back to original BIOS.

My new card (RMA) is constantly running over 2000 RPM. Most times even 2100, it's like a jet engine. Even with only 70° over 2050 RPM.

just did bios update on my card yesterday.

temps down from 80 to 65~69. i'm happy with this.

however............

holy smokes is it LOUD???????

it is significantly loud at the moment, up to the point that it's actually pissing me off.

reminds me of my old R9 fury, straight up jet engine on takeoff.

needless to say, i am VASTLY dissapointed.

yes they fixed the temp problem, but the decibel levels of the fans are ridiculous.

i've spent over $150 on fans to both cool and be QUIET at the same time. that's 6 x noctua nf-a14 fans at $25 a pop. But it all went down the drain since the gpu is generating an insane amount of noise when fans go above 80% (which is 100% of the time while gaming)
