Will this set back the core clock to 1835 mhz stock? and do i need to undo the downclock of the card before uninstalling afterburner?

Yes, it should if your overclock settings are somehow stuck. No, you don't need to undo the downclock.
 
Boost 3.0 can push it past 1835MHz at times, however, you said it was running at 1835 before you did any overclocking.

 
i see in the spec sheets that it's max clock is 1835. so i thought that boost 3.0 was getting it there.  i wasn't paying attention to the clocks before the overclock. But if boost 3.0 can push it beyond 1835 then i guess no. I am a noob when it comes to graphics cards :P.

Yeah Wolly, your card will run near 2000mhz when playing by itselft! with your overclock it could run at 2125 (aprox.) when overclocked.
 
Did you achieved +150 OC stable on Unigine Heaven? Did you try MSI Kombustor -> GPU core burner (Furry MSI)? That's a great tool to confirm the OC once it's stable, firstly, on Unigine (and it's not as agressive as Furmark, without infecting the TDP).
