hi. after i had done a 150 mhz overclock with evga precision tool i decided to get it back to default. However now the pc thinks that the overclock is the default state because it runs at 1985 Mhz stock. downclocking the card gets it back to 1835 mhz. but how  can i make 1835 the default state again.

Will this set back the core clock to 1835 mhz stock? and do i need to undo the downclock of the card before uninstalling afterburner?

Your GPU has GPU boost 3.0. The card, by itself and without any intervention by you, will self over clock within thermal and power limits.

yea i know :) but the maximum speed for my card is 1835 mhz. boost (1607 mhz base) when i overclocked it it was 1985 mhz. after restoring default settings it's still 1985 mhz

No 1835 is not the max speed. That's what I'm trying to tell you - GPU Boost, by design, pushes the card further than that as long as the GPU is within thermal and power limits.

It is free performance that Nvidia built in for their cards. And it looks like your card is a good one to boost that high out of the box!

Then it must be an coincidence that it boost itself 150 mhz am i right?. I thought it was my overclock. So GPU boost does the work from 1607 to 1835. and pushing even futher when possible?

Yes, it should if your overclock settings are somehow stuck. No, you don't need to undo the downclock.

Boost 3.0 can push it past 1835MHz at times, however, you said it was running at 1835 before you did any overclocking.
