As above really if I rma my card will we get a new unused classified with the pads and bios update done or will we just a used refurb that's been modified?

Also anyone who is doing the mod for the thermal pads I would use a antistatic matting to prevent ESD damage as the guide posted above does not mention this.

Generally RMA are refurbished, but if it's just for the thermal pads they might mod it for you and send the same card back? (just pure speculation on my part) New products aren't generally given for RMAs, but there are exceptions (I think if it fails within 30 days of purchase, or if they don't have any Refurbish products on hand for example that I know of)
 
Will have to wait for an EVGA rep to answer, to be sure there isn't an exception made however.

Less than 30 days since purchase - new card.

If this is just a thermal pad install then EVGA might just mod the card you send and send it back. it doesn't take much to apply a couple of thermal pads and redo the TIM - it would take me all of 10 minutes going slow.

Are classified cards getting thermal pads too? I swear my backplate should not be as hot as it is.
NM i found the part numbers and the classy is part of it, just ordered my pads.

Good questions as the new articles I have seen state you will get a new card.  Getting a refurb to replace a 31 day old new card seems kind of crummy.  Any ways I put in the RMA request for my 1070 Black when I read the news a couple days back.  Waiting to hear back so they must be fairly busy.
