Today I paid for the extended warranty for my GTX 1070 FTW because I fear that these thermal problems already have damaged (or will damage) my card.
I  advise you to restore confidence very fast and if you are sure that these problems will NOT damage the cards, please extend the warranty for all customers/cards affected by this thermal problems .
From 3 to 5 years. Free!

It will be a very good way to prove to your customers that you are confident in your products .
Regards

Hi WebTourist,

I am sorry to hear that you are not confident with your product.  I assure you that we have tested these products and they are within the spec .  Please see our FAQ section at:  http://www.evga.com/thermalmod/

However, if you are concerned with your product then we are offering to work with our customers to exchange their product for one with the VBIOS installed from the factory if that is preferred.  Please just contact our support if you do want help with this.  http://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

So if I send my GTX 1080 SC back to you guys, you can send me one with thermal pads and the new VBIOS installed?

Wrong thread. But yes. Please select the correct topic when asking a question.

Are they still within spec running in a SLI setup? If they are already marginally within spec, SLI will almost certainly lead to catastrophic failure. Nobody (yet) has investigated how likely this is to compound the existing VRM and VRAM overheating issues. This is a very serious concern.

Only the new Bios? If I RMA my card I expect to get one with Thermalmod installed. You also need to check if the pad on the RAM is correctly applied, without a gap between RAM and cooling solution.

This will not be a precedent.
A year ago we got +2 years extended warranty. Free.

This promotion is more important now for the GTX 1080/GTX 1070.
Evga must show that they believe in the quality of 1080/1070 as in quality of 980/970.

At least you can pick up the extended warranty. Bought my 1070 FTW 28th July... meaning the moment the 90-day window for extended warranty lapsed for me, all of this crops up.

I completely agree, would be a sign that all is well and trust their products but I think this series will lose the fame that had so far with the guarantees.
