I did clarified what i wanted multiple times in the thread and in my ticket, never got an answer by an EVGA Official in the Thread nor in PM's (or i missed it somehow,so be kind to show it to me), in the ticket i got an Bot answer - Giving me the howto RMA...or was it a woman?! and nothing on the points i insisted on, to which i replied, insisting again on my basics demands, till today nothing (4 days).
Now that was the first part.

For the fear-mongering part, to which i answered already, i'm sharing facts, it's a forum after all.

You said, EVGA have admitted their mistakes?, no they did not and will not. I also stated this in one of my post.
Again about the "optional" as i said in one of my post (again), if it really is, one is entitled to not make any of it (Which is my position right now) - and the card will surely die prematurely. (back to the part where EVGA did not admitted the mandatory situation).

Next we have the RMA part, which is pretty much summed up in the first part. Also my big fuss as you said, is not a threat, just a another fact, i'll ask a refund, depending on the way the ticket is handled.

If it has to come to the refund, of course, THEN, i'll have nothing to do here anymore and move along. I wll add that if you can't coop with my positions, you still have the option to close your eyes.

Yes, i wish the same thing, a real solution and quick.

As has been stated, your "facts" are not facts they are your opinions that the fixes do not work. While the studies from various sources maintain that they do. The only thing you have clarified is exactly what I stated in my last response to you. That you are not happy with the solution you have been offered and that you are awaiting a response and until you have received one will continue to pester everyone. End point. And you are now on ignore for the remainder of this dicussion as you refuse all help/advice that has been offered to you. Good day.

normally what should happen is you take your card to the store and the store gives you a new card. that is what the company should offer. you shouldn't need a receipt as it is obvious what brand and card you have.  this would be truly standing behind the products and respecting the customers. RMA with a credit card really is not the best way to deal with this. neither is repairing your own card.

You can choose the normal RMA method but will be without a card for some time. But you will not have to provide a credit card hold in that case.

The sources i have states otherwise (basic Physic/Thermodynamic being one of many, Physic is everything but an opinion).
We agree on the bold part, that's not so bad. good day.

First post updated with 1080/1070 FTW Secondary BIOS and Classified BIOS.

Hi. Noob questions: I have a 1080 FTW. If I don't plan to use the Secondary BIOS, should I update it anyway? What are the advantages of the Secondary BIOS?

I have decided to stay with EVGA despite this recent glitch. I will be receiving my new computer setup with one of the affected cards in about 2 weeks time, hopefully one with factory fixes in place. Would anyone know, if there is any way to identify a card that already has the fixes implemented? I would think the Bios version is relative easy to check - however is there any way to check if the thermal pads are there without prying the card apart?

May I suggest you slab a sticker ("Now even more cooler" or something) into the fixed card's boxes for a month or two - no need to change the entire boxes, just give us a small clue while handling the item, that we are receiving the top notch quality item we are used to expect from EVGA.

I'm getting occasional artifacting in videos, not the previous bug with chrome with black pixels, this time it's more of a mess. Started happening after i updated to the latest VBIOS, but not sure if it's because of the VBIOS or something else.

Just want to post something positive here.

I installed vBIOS ok for my GTX 1080 FTW but as my card is so new (October purchase) and I wasn't comfortable doing the thermal pad myself, I decided to pull trigger on RMA.
The longest wait was getting through, *2 calls ahead* but once I got through and confirmed my details, I was put on the que for advanced RMA , just waiting for my invoice to be verified.

The rep confirmed the RMA card will have thermal pads installed and the  latest vbios flashed.
He also told me the RMA box will come with a self addressed postage paid box for shipment back to EVGA.

Up here in Canada, shipping GFX cards as hefty as the 1080 FTW would easily run me $50+ and probably more since the holiday busy season is coming up.  It was a super nice gesture by EVGA to pay for my postage back to them.

I also asked about if I'll get new or refurbished and he confirmed I'll get new since my purchase was recent.  Albeit it may come in an RMA box  (hope it's ok for resale in a few years?)

Unless the RMA process itself falls apart or something unexpected comes up, I think this is the best customer service I've received.

I was an EVGA user on my old GTX 260 and went with MSi for the 700 and 900 series.  This whole thermal thing almost moved me away from EVGA, but it may well keep me with them for the 11 series or 12 series card, whenever I choose to upgrade.

Thumbs up.  Fingers crossed on smooth RMA for me, but pretty happy so far.

Artifacting isn't the VBIOS. Something else is wrong.
