where are the bios updates for the 1060 cards?

BIOS updates on 1060 ACX3  cards will not be necessary, we will have the optional thermal pads for some SKU's so please stay tuned.

Does this mean there won't be BIOS for the 1060 acx3 cards at all or that they are optional?

And let me remind you that anyone who was the rep-out-to-get-you as you claim wouldn't advise you to refund your purchase when you make it clear you don't want the fixes provided, which we all have done. And you certainly have the right to scream and shout within the confines of the forum rules, but equally everyone else has the right to point out how detrimentally it reflects on your persona. Don't forget that.

Sure, i'm fine with that, as you said everyone have the right to do whatever he like, not complaining about it either, do i? You did the fixes and yet i don't remember saying anything about it...and for sure have nothing to say about it, freedom of choice right.

Exactly. The difference however is that I didn't go about making absurd accusations that anybody and everybody that disagreed with me was a representative out to silence me. You asked what exactly you wanted to ask. The community (and the company preemptively) answered. You've also stated on multiple occasions what you wanted to state (i.e. that you don't want the solutions provided and that you consider them to be fairy dust for all you care). You don't seem to often clarify what it is you want instead however other than to attempt to make others share your opinion every time someone new comes along. I.E. the defintion of fearmongering: [the action of deliberately arousing public fear or alarm about a particular issue.]. You just continue to point out that you don't feel like you should have to do the work and that it should have been done from the beginning. EVGA has admitted they made a mistake (so they have agreed with you on that). They are one step ahead of you given the fact that they've already said you don't have to do the work either. For one its optional, two if you feel like its not they happily offer you to send it in (they said they'd do it for you) and three you made your big fuss about how you're threatening to return it if you don't get what you want. We agreed you should, since you won't be happy with the outcomes provided as you stated. In the end, your case or whatnot is solved. There is nothing more for you to do then wait for a response or choose to make a return. So you should be good. You can move along without proving to be a detriment to others now. Or you can continue to stay here and flail about at  absolutely no benefit to the company, community, or yourself. But have at it. And I seriously do hope you get your fixes and your card lives a long and healthy life without a doubt.

I did the update and now the idle temp on one of the 1080s went up 10 degrees. Before they both sat at 36-39c. Now one is at 45-50c idle. Any idea what could be the problem?

Is it 1080 FTW? The idle temp should be unaffected (0dB fan mode)

Also is it BIOS 1 or 2?

They aren't optional if you're installing them on the cards going forward.  Let's stop pretending.

Will I get an email when my thermal pads ship? It says "awaiting shipment" and Im tired of refreshing the screen.

Well, you can stop refreshing this week.  We won't be shipping more pads out until next week.  Thanks to your question, I just asked our Customer Support to make sure an email goes out to people when the request has processed and shipped.

You do realize there won't be thermal pads, right?  All they'll do is flash the BIOS (30 seconds of effort) and send you back a refurb.  But if that's what you want, go for it.

"EVGA has updated its manufacturing line for all these cards to add the thermal pads as standard."
Can't post links, but it's on pcmag site.

Again, until EVGA actually says this post vbios release I'll remain skeptical (not saying it's not true) and like I said, it wouldn't be the smartest move unless they want to swap thousands of cards.

Would it help if I say it semi-post-VBIOS release?  All cards on the Thermal Mod list are being produced with the extra thermal pads and VBIOS flash, with certain exceptions (such as no VBIOS for GTX 1060s, as Jacob noted, or backplate pads for the 1070 Black Editions [no backplate]), and all graphics cards on the list will be updated for both VBIOS and thermal pads before being shipped out again retail or for RMA's.  Since there is a small downtime for accomplishing all of this, future cards purchased or replaced will have a pretty clear shipping date of when they were updated.

I don't understand the two parts update and the "card must be set to BIOS that is being flashed"

I would like more informations before I proceed..

GTX 1070 FTW
BIOS v1 update yesterday - great, the fans are still not spinning before entering the realm of "a bit more than minor usage of PC".
BIOS v2 update just now - darn it, fans are set at minimum 500RPM - can't even force it to zero spin using custom curve in Precision. Temp is around 31C.

If you have a card with 2 VBIOS's there will be a switch on the card to set the VBIOS. If there is only one VBIOS entry for your card on the main page you only have 1 Primary VBIOS and can ignore that statement

EDIT: What is your cards P/N?
