  • Update 11/9/16 with NEW BIOS - EVGA GeForce GTX 1080/1070/1060 PWM Temperature Upadate (p.73)

PLEASE share a comparison between the original FAN Curve GTX 1070 Superclocked and the NEW fan curve. I 'don't want to lose the quiet factor.

Other question is , Is there a way to revert back to the BIOS before the update? If you don't like the new curves and noise?

Is it good enough to just install one thermal pad, the one behind the back plate which is much easier and not install the one where you have to remove the heatsink?

I bought and paid extra for my card for the quietness advertised. Since this is not what we are getting, there should be available a full refund on all.

I dont like the bios update, its a good first step but seriously the sound level will be terrible. Watch this (around 6:30)
www. youtube.com/watch?v=qZ0eAylzl0o

Using the thermal pad the card will be much cooler without the fan going crazy. EVGA should do RMA and also apply the thermal pads. I dont want to do that myself.
I have already made a RMA request. If this is such a great company as people use to say it will be accepted.
I did not pay this much for a loud card like the video shows. With the pads the card is what it should have been from the start. Its up to proof now if EVGA has a good customer service.

From what I heard a moderator point out earlier in the thread you need to use tube not youtube to embed the video you are attempting to embed

What is tube? is it not allowed to put youtube link? (if so sorry for that, that was just a great video with facts i think people would have interest in).

I was just referring to the statement "also, to embed a video, just use tube, not youtube." made by moderator Scarlet-Tech in post #587 of this thread. It allows you to embed the video directly into the page if desired.

Oh well...tried three times to update bios...first time, the Command prompt just closed immediately.  Then made sure all programs were closed and ran in Administrator mode...command prompt opened...recognized my card and then closed.  Never given an option to type Y.  Then tried in safe mode...nada.  Guess I will keep using Afterburner and keep my aggressive fan profile.

Just curious, are you running a AMD chipset motherboard, if so see:

Q. I have an AMD chipset motherboard, and the flash is not completing. What do I do?
A. Please contact (see main post for hyperlink to email), this will require a special update.

Intel X99 with i7 5820K.  Still no luck...tried it from command prompt by itself and still no flash.

Have you tried downloading the VBIOS update again? Perhaps it got corrupted during download? I know its unlikely considering how short the download is, but just trying to think of what it could be. Sorry you are having problems.

Yes....downloaded a  second time and same result.  Windows 10 Pro 64 bit...I would understand if it didn't recognize the video card...but it does.  Shows the card model.  I guess the next step is to ask me if I want to flash, but it never goes that far.  Command prompt gets to acknowledging my card...then closes

You need to run this exe as administrator (right mouse button click -> run as administrator).

The user already attempted this and the issue is resolved. He was attempting to flash the wrong VBIOS, the VBIOS for the 1080 standard is not yet released.
