I'd definitely reccomend not using this update. I'm really shocked no one has pointed this out yet and called out evga on such a shady move. My SC card is now slower than a founders edition, or ANY other 1080 for that matter.

So... is it possible to revert to the original BIOS?  I installed the thermal mod on my 1080 SC today and I'd rather go back to the quieter default profile, and boost really is disabled/not working, I'd really like to revert.

i don't think its related to any driver issues. the memory is running at the correct speed, and there is no 'boost' feature for memory so i'm not concerned with that. I'm only upset about the gpu clock speed being stuck at 1709mhz no matter what. idle on the desktop = 1709, full load = 1709. boost, and downclocking just doesn't exist in this new bios.

Gladly... See attached hwmonitor min/max values after a admittedly somewhat brief gaming session. Temps stay nicely around 72C, fans are screaming, but the gpu clock and memory clock are locked at 1709/5005. Never once has it boosted since applying this BIOS update.

I think the problem is the new version of HWMonitor. I have the old bios with a custom fancurve and I saw this same behaviour with HWMonitor. EVGA Precision X still shows correct clock speeds.

Same for me. GPU-Z shows the correct clock and that it is actually boosting properly.

No it's not slower. The issue is HW Monitor and NOT the card. So your post is useless.

I stop using hwmonitor because it gives me crazy temperatures and crazy informations...

Got my card RMA and now temps do not go above 75c and using the EVGA fan curve. Thanks EVGA!

Can anyone upload the original BIOS 08G-P4-6171-KR? The new one is to noisy for me in the end.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Hanson,
I have uploaded the original firmware of my 08G-P4-6171-KR, the way i received my GTX 1070 ACS3.0 when i bought it (i have Samsung RAM, so i did not implement that other update regarding Micron RAM).

By the way, i didn't realize any sound increase with the new firmware, and hey....i live in Brazil, with ambient temperature always at 30ºC+ .

Dang it, the forum will not permit linking to files, as i have less then 10 posts!

Best Regards

Fala cara blza!

Vc instalou a nova bios? e os thermal pads? a temperatura e o ruído como ficaram? o fan liga a partir de quantos graus?

eu tenho uma 1070 ACX 3.0 e ainda não atualizei a bios e os pads não chegaram ainda

Question for those with the 1070 FTW that have done the bios and both pad mods. What is the temp in Precision X OC temp while idling?
