The problems you are describing are common with Precision X (or whatever version). I know loads of people that now use Afterburner because it is way more stable.

By sheer fluke I managed to get the software to stay open (steam version, not sure if that matters as I've had the exact same problem with it in the past)... but my first overclock caused my GPU to crash instantly. But hey, at least the software worked
