One more thing I want to ask, how long will the free thermal pads be offered?  Since I'm not purchasing a card for at least 2 or 3 months obviously I'm not eligible to get them now, but I would like to have them when I do order.

New ones will come with pre-installed thermal pads.

Gotcha, thanks for the clarification.  I apologize if the tone came across as accusatory or anything, I'm just trying to find out information.

Don't apologize to that fool.  Him and all the other tech support and moderators here and skirting the issue GO TO ANOTHER COMPANY.

Then why does the EVGA card run at 30 degrees higher, even if the program used was not ideal?

There are no overheating issues with any of our 1070/1080 cards and any "issues" reported are not related to one another. The reports that have been coming out are completely false and I can assure you that our cards run within spec as stated by our Product Manager Jacob. The thermal pads that are being offered by us are completely optional and without them the cards run within spec.

Hi Andrew,

Is there any chance EVGA can perform the own in house thermal tests and have the results posted in an official statement?

As you can see there is a LOT of speculation and rumors going about due to the lack of information and numbers coming from EVGA. The statement from EVGA and the thermal test results after the pad was added isn't enough and is extremely vague at best.

The only way all this is going to be stopped is for some official results to be posted with some actual details and numbers. That way this issue can be put to rest once and for all and everyone has a reference to link to etc.

At the end of the day this can only benefit EVGA and put a stop to all of this. I'm not sure why this wasn't done when EVGA had the card on the test bed with the new thermal pad. Both the before and after results could have been used instead of just the later. That way people can see there was and still isn't an issue if you decide no to go ahead with the thermal pad fix.

Go grab my card that is in RMA and slap yourself with it while saying there is no issue.  I swear you all are totally brain dead.  Have you not seen the countless posts here, reddit and generally going around the internet.

I didn't intend to start anything, but obviously it's a hot topic right now.  I got the answers I came for, this thread can be deleted as far as I'm concerned.

Yes jeff, in all honesty go with another company.  These people have me super heated at this point and are dragging feet for resolution.  EVGA has always been my goto for Graphics, but that officially ends now.
