Not to mince words, but a public statement a companies employees can greatly be regarded as true statements. Especially when they identify themselves as such. Lying would put the company in serious jeopardy regarding lawsuits and reputation loss. This is the ma I need reason it takes so long for them to comment about these issues in the first place. They must ensure that they have their facts straight. Many so called news sites don't have such restrictions. They pay their writers very little, if they even have actual staff writers, and usually only care about views for ads. Reputable sites get caught up in this too, which is why certain sites need to be taken with a large bag of salt.

I personally ran my 1080FTW on kboost at 2ghz for most a week to test out its folding skills. My backplate measured close to 60C the entire time and airflow through the cooler is limited by the 970 below it in the case . If this was real problem in design, my card would have been hosed. Plenty of folders in the forums run these cards 24/7 as well for folding. We would have expected seen real reports from these folks as folding is more intensive use of a gpus resources than most games.

But in the end, do what you want. Either be happy with the evga card or buy another. Real chances of failure are similar no matter what brand you buy.

There have been several reporting different kinds of issues. Some are old stock that might be affected by this announced faulty batch, others are "regular" DOA or warranty cases. There are cases where the same user reported the same issue several times and even trolls who use other people's pics to create a false pretense.

Right now, the only people that can confirm any issue are EVGA. And they confirmed just one, the faulty batch. Not even overheating issues.
So, the only actual piece of advice I can give is for you to stay real, collect your own set of evidence (you now have the necessary facts) and get in your head that EVGA warranty covers your card.

I've opened up this thread as I said before due to past experiences, not with EVGA but with XFX. At the time I was sure that my card was faulty due to constant blacks screens and freezes and their RMA wasn't too helpful by pointing the problem to be originating from my motherboard.

I kept telling the company that the problem but fell down on deaf ears. After sometime when I had posted it for another RMA they confirmed that it was faulty but couldn't do anything cause the warranty was expired.

I'm not saying that this would be the same treatment I would get from EVGA but past experiences like this can make you sour and preemptively strike at the heart of the problem, and that is why in this case I have asked the supplier to change it for me.

Agree or disagee, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Well we are taking about "VRMs Exploding" so the DOA cards and other issues would do not really count.
So then the Count is One Card you are saying?

No, that is exactly not what I am saying. I know of three cases. All three documented here on the forums.
