I purchased (in my city, not on the web), a GTX 1080, and got an EVGA box with "SUPERCLOCKED", but without image on the box. Opening it, i found a beautiful card, with an unique fan, very rectangular, with "Geforce GTX 1080", but looking as... any unknowed card. So i searched and searched on the web, finallly on this forum and found the word "hybrid" ; more investigating on the web, this time i found hybrid photos of the 1080 : that's exactly the look of my card, the same very rectangular box, the same fan etc. Only my own card has not the word "hybrid" on the box, just "Geforce GTX 1080".
 
Now my question : assuming that "hybrid", for me, can be "watercooled" but maybe also "air cooled", is it possible to use this card as an traditionnal aircard, with it's fan, without lliquid cooling, or not, or dangerous, or impossible etc. ?
 
I use modeling 3D (Blender), but not animated 3D, except two flight simulators (Flightgear and Googleearth) ; my screen is a 30 " model (1600 x 2560).

you will have to use the included liquid cooling as it is the only method of cooling the gpu. the fan on the card does not cool the gpu.
 
 

Hybrid is exactly as it states.  It has a radiator attached to it along with a fan and shroud.
 
What you probably have is the blower style SC version.

What is the Full Model or Part Number of your Card?
The Hybrid Cooler Cools the GPU while a Blower Fan Cools the rest of the Card like the vRam.

Make sure you have room in your Computer Case to place the Radiator Above the Graphics Card.

Yes. You are right : it's the blower style version. Great thank's  ! That is the first point.
 
Now is that an hybrid, or not ? In other words, can i use the card directly without any additional material, or need i other things like cooling liquid, external cooling installation etc. ?

Thank's ! There is no any other thing included ; no liquid, no other fan, just the doc and an alim cable.
And the word "hybrid" isn't on the card, just "Geforce GTX 1080".
It's very certainly the "blower style SC" model.

Thank's for the detailed docs. Now i think that it's really another card (blower style SC) : i got only the card, no kit, etc.
