Hi guys,

I've got two Xl2411Z from BenQ with a GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0 and I hardly tried to get the 144 Hertz working on both monitors. With the delivered DVI cable, there is no problem to get the 144 Hertz working on one monitor. I tried with a display port to DVI adapter and a display port to DVI cable to get the second one working. But it seems, only the direct DVI output of the card is supporting the 144 Hertz. Is that correct?
Many thanks in advance for the help!

Displayport should work.  However, with DVI only the DVI dual link will support 144hz.  Basically, I suspect the issue may be that the adapter is not DVI Dual Link and is not intended/designed for 144hz.

GTX980 supports 2 x 144 Hz monitors just fine, but the nVidia driver doesn't! you will find that if you set the driver to refresh at 144 you will not get the card to idle down to 2D it will run high all the time, the best you can hope for is 2 monitors, card and driver at 120 Hz.

Use search this matter has been discussed before especially by http://forums.evga.com/Profile/866510/

Hey, thanks for your quick answer.
I just used the search, but I didn't find anything about the 2 monitor issue.
So am I right, there is no possibillity of running 2 monitors in 144 hz? Acutally, with 2 new adapters or 2 new DP to DVI cables, it is not possible to run any of those monitors in 144 hz.
It looks like, the DP of my card is not supporting more than 60 hz.

It Has been mentioned here, you can get your games to refresh at the 144 hz level and you can get your OS to do the same, the problem is you are likely to find your card will not idle down at 144 Hz you must set the OS to refresh at 120 Hz with 2 monitors to get it to idle and be cool when not in use.

Here are a few links that explain it, nVidia still has not fixed this very old issue.

Best you can get with two XL2411Z monitors is 144Hz/120Hz or 120Hz/120Hz. You'll also need this active adapter to do so. If the monitor came with dp support you could easily do 144Hz/144Hz.
