It's a neat idea, but I don't see it getting mass adoption unfortunately. If it gets Autodesk/Solidworks support I will get one.

IDK if they both work the same way.
The space mouse is for navigating in 3D space and the Dial is for choosing within a menu.
They both might be customizable to do the same work (might be a lot of setup and troubleshooting), but I think they are too different to work "essentially the same."
