The USB 3.0 header on the X99 FTW K sticks out the side of the board, instead of the top.  There is only a couple of centimeters clears, so the cable interferes with the case.  Does anyone know of a right angle usb 3.0 header adapter that might help?

Bummer EVGA did have this Low Profile USB 3.0 Header Extender Item #:W002-00-000028 ($9.99 each)

 Usually you could plug that part in when you're having issues by installing the cable before the MB installation to the case.

Yeah, it's impossible in the case I have.  Oh well, at least I know there is a solution.  For now I'll live no USB on the front panel...

What I mean by that is not having the MB installed on the MB tray just yet.  You can easily install the cable to the MB but you might need more then two hands.  One to hold the MB in  the air or just above the tray and the other to install the cable to it, unless the cable isn't long enough for this process.

You build a better looking rig than I do.  I'd love a few of those low profile headers.  I have an x99 FTW K in a MasterCase Pro 5.  It fits, but need the low profile header.  Honestly, I'll probably move the board to a bigger case and use the MasterCase (which I love) for my daily driver.  Once I'm back from vacation.
