Hi!
After hearing a lot of negativity and reading a lot of horryfying posts, I was worried about getting this card that I've been planning on buying soon. I was wondering if the temperature/black screen errors still exist that some users have reported? It is such a big disappointment since this is literally my dream card kinda, and I've been so hyped about getting it.

Best regards, Benjamin

I have had my 1080 FTW since July.

It has been running folding @ home 24/7 since I got it.

No issues.

If you have any issues...EVGA has your back...best customer service in the world.

Awesome to hear and thanks for your really fast answer! I might have troubles refunding the card though since I live in Europe and have to buy it from some reseller. Also, have you experienced coil whine on your card? I saw a post from another user mentioning this.

No coil whine.

No issues.

(And the extra thermal pads are optional).

It's just general human nature...a larger percentage of people will flock to the internet to complain as compared to people who are satisfied.  Hence, you will see more people with issues that will "scare you" when in reality it's a small percentage.

It's not in EVGA's (or any company's) best interest to sell bad hardware.

At the end of the day...it's your decision.  And just enjoy the card!

Thanks for your reply and really nice to hear. I feel a lot more secure about getting the card now and will probably do so. Could someone also explain what the thermal pads are and why they are required(?) since I'm not any expert when it comes to graphics cards and PC components in general :P

I also have had mine since July without any issues, EVGA has great support so I wouldn't worry about it.

1080FTW reporting in: Runs like a charm, albeit rather hot in my mITX. A 1080 FTW hybrid will aleviate this issue and I know what I can give away for christmas ;)

Our family has two 1080 sc acx 3.0's, while we have custom fan curves set and thermal pads on the way, we haven't had any problems.

Those cards are just chomping through every game we throw at it.

Your mileage may vary, but that's where we are at.
