So I got my Thermal Mod today and installed it. Obviously it didn't come with the memory pads since mine shipped before that debacle.

HOWEVER, I checked as best as I could and the memory pads seemed to be hitting the chips. I didn't open it to completely check but there were no gaps that I could see. Brandon shipped me the pads for memory today. I'll check it again when I get them.

As for the mod install, the fan wire that sits at the end of the device is impossible to get off. I almost broke the clip trying. I gave up and just did the mod without disconnecting it. Seriously be careful doing this. The side fan connector was easy to remove however.

Temps are, the same on th

The cable at the end is for lights. Gently pull straight up and it will pop off. There isnt a clip that actively engages it to hold it in. If it were to break during the mod, EVGA will take care of you.

According to ,

"Starting next week we will ship thermal grease, memory thermal pads, along with PWM thermal pads in the package. It is recommended to remove the existing grease on GPU and memory pads and apply the new ones. For any customers that did not receive memory thermal pads, please contact us so we can arrange it."

Any requests for pads that haven't shipped yet will have VRAM pads as well.

That's top man. The rest of my new build will come together before the card pads are here most likely, but I can borrow my father's computer to game on for a few more days I think.

Thanks!
I see the gap now as well, took some more pictures with better angles, light and max zoom.
I see a gap on all pads now.. No contact what so ever. Thought that only the FTW-cards where affected..

Is there a admin/support here that can verify that i get the thermal pads for VRAM as well?? (ordered wed 02/11)
When is the estimated arrival (EU)?

Why is there no official statement about this scandal as well?
And a guide for the application?

EVGA has already acknowledged this. How is that not an official statement? There is an entire thread for everything going on, it is even pinned to the top of the forum and kept up to date. You just heave to read post one.

because there is no update to the thermal pad mod page.

Anyone with a trained eye that can tell if there´s a gap there?

I can't see very well from the angle, but i think they're ok!

Do I need to replace the thermal pads on the VRAM or should this be good enough?

Listen people, EVERY card needs the VRAM thermal pad replaced. With thermal pads, you can't just have them barely touching the components. You need to at least have some compression to the pad else the heat transfer will be incredibly inefficient.

All cards in the 10 series line need the VRAM pads replaced with 1.5mm pads.

This is correct.

gladly more and more ppl understand this simple thing..
no matter there are gaps or not, it obviously shows there is not enough pressure for the stock pads to make deep indentation ....

just please dont trust the vram can be passively cooled. it is really fine given only there is open airflow. strictly speaking, micron gddr5 vram is fine when its temp is from 0~95c, according to its datasheet. with backplate and midplate, most of the airflow are blocked, so if heat cant be transfer to the plates, vrams are well done.

dont need to doubt that, just replace all of them especially when evga recommends you to replace them.
be a man, screw driver is a simple tool. you can do it all by yourself, follow the guides like youtube video and some threads at this forums and evga official guide.

Hey guys, I'm awaiting shipment myself.  I just saw this youtube vid of a guy adding thermal pads in two locations:

I am seeing in this thread that there is a third location now which is needed in addition.  I guess his video is still not good enough because it's missing the new pads to be used for memory locations that are not touching?
