  • How do I prevent all GPUs from starting to fold as soon as I launch folding at home?

is there a way to prevent folding from starting right as the program is first launched? I'm trying to prevent work units from being downloaded form GPU(s) I don't want to have folding 24/7 when I start up folding at home after a system reboot. Given that FOlding at home tends to mix up my GPUs, adding and removing a GPU slot as needed is something that didn't work in the past, as it'd tend to re-number the GPU and have my primary GPU re-assigned to work while a secondary one would sit idle.

Was wondering what setting if any to change.

GO to configure>Expert tab>Extra Client Options>Click "ADD" and enter in pause-on-start = True

This is how to stop it from starting with windows, Not sure if you can pick specific GPUs with this though. Someone muchy muchy smarter will have to help you with that

Or see if you can find anything is this that will work:

That seems to have worked, Thanks! this way I don't have to start all cores at once every time I reboot or otherwise need to restart the folding client :)

under slots you can pause each gpu on its own if that's what you need
