I'm a bit of a nooby and I need some help giving power to my new EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SSC. Here are my specs for my mobo, gpu and PSU:
 
Motherboard: Asus z170-p
Graphics card:  EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SSC
Power Supply Unit:  SeaSonic S12II 520 Bronze 520W
 
So my issues is this, on the GPU I have an 8pin PCI-Express port and on my PSU I also have 8 pins. I was only provided an 8pn to 2 6pins PCI-Express with the 1060 (refer to bottom picture as reference).
 
 I tried connecting the PSU to gpu using an 8 pin to 6+2pin PCIE however, it doesn't seem to have enough power.
 
Any suggestions? I would appreciate all the help!

No need to use the adapter. The 6+2 from your psu is all you need. Is the card not working after plugging in the 6+2 from the psu?

So, I tried using the 6+2 pin. But I noticed that on the 8pin end it only had 6 pin (2 of the holes were hollowed). I connected the 6+2 side to my GPU and the 8pin to my PSU, my card turns on sure (the logo glows), but the fan just kind of flickers. Like rotates very slightly and then stops. It then it does this again and again. 
 
My main issue is that I'm connecting my monitor to my GPU (not connected to mobo because of the lack of dp port on the mobo) and there is no signal. If you need more pictures I will happily take them!

The fans on the gpu won't run until the card gets above 60c. The fan flickering is normal. To help try and resolve the black screen try updating your motherboard bios to the latest version using another video card/igpu. After updating the motherboard bios to the latest version retry the 1060.

Oh really? Man I was so worried lol. So, why is the fan just moving slowly by its own though? I will buy a connecto to link my mobo to my monitor in order to update everything.

Yup! Is that normal? If it is, is there anyway for me to test that the power to the GPU is enough? Or do I have to update the MOBO and then test it by connecting my monitor to the gpu?

Yeah, the twitching is normal, see here for more info. The gpu is definitely getting enough power. Yes, you need to update your motherboard bios to the latest version then retest the 1060 by connecting your monitor to it.
