Good glad to hear it. I myself try to keep my CPU and VVT at or below 1.35V . For tenps and longevity.
12gb most of the time is enough. If you need more I would consider another stick of what you have for 16gb or two 8gb dual rank.
Honestly in this stage of the game, I would rather save my money for other upgrades in the future.

Agreed. I'm just going to ride out this X58 until the wheels fall off. It has and continues to be an excellent system. All my benchmarks are up there with current chipsets. I've been very impressed with X58

CPU VVT, can be raised, set it to +150mv. I would not go much higher than that. That is = to 1.35v
If you can not get it faster, try tightening the timings, 8-9-8-25, or 7-8-7-25  first  2T  then try 1T
You can try 3 x 8gb sticks, most 8gb sticks are dual rank. Triple channel dual rank is a good thing.
