I still have yet to see good detailed instructions/pictures/videos of somebody performing this mod. I am fairly comfortable with mucking around inside a PC, and I have built several in my life, but I must say that I have never taken apart a video card. I have seen several people respond to people asking how to perform this mod with responses like "it's easy; you will be fine", which doesn't really say much. I think there are 2 plates on the back of these video cards which can be removed? To be honest, I know that the TIM needs to be cleaned and replaced on the GPU die, which I am comfortable doing, but I am still not sure where to put these thermal pads. To be completely honest, I am not even completely sure where the VRM or VRAM is, or what exactly they look like.

Any chance of some really specific instructions here?

Since I live in Brazil, and EVGA probably wont ship it to me, which thickness should fit properly on the board? 1mm or 2mm ? Gonna buy it myself.
I had a GTX 780 ACX sc that died because the VRM. I won't let it happen to my 1070 FTW, at least, not soon...

I would like to know the same thing if possible. What is the thickness of the thermal pad that has to be used?
Also if I understood correctly, the thermalpad placement should be between the PCB and the backplate am I right?

Btw, what is the status on your thermal pad? Mines says:  Your request is awaiting approval."
I requested it 25/10.

But again I live in Brazil, so I don't have much faith that I'll receive those.

Any word on if the Thermal Pads being sent out will include VRAM pads too? We've been seeing reports of those pads being too small and not making correct contact between the chips and baseplate apparently.
