I have 2 GTX 1080 FTW with heating issue. Not at all happy with support.
Seems to me they only read the first line. First they tell me the bottom card
always gets hotter, as there was nothing wrong with the cards, then another
guy takes over the support and say the top card always get hotter. Okey..

GPU2 is a lot hotter and is throttling below stock speed with default setting,
no matter what card is GPU2 and with open case. Support was stalling so that
I missed out on returning them to Amazon. These cards have cost me close
to $2000 with shipping and customs, so I`m not particularly happy about this...
I just want 2 new cards with waterblock and be finished with this nightmare.

Have been told to RMA the cards, but ASIA RMA returned errors, and I can
only hope that the support number I asked for at US site will be usable for
my ASIA RMA...

EVGA power link is also requested for a while now...

Maybe when you read the fine print you'll catch on about the power link.................

As usual you have to scroll down the page, see nice pictures of your cards
and how much it cost for shipping to Canada aso.,only to find this message
at the bottom:

"Sorry, we do not ship to your country."...

Starting to think that having to dismantle my new GPU (1070 FTW ACR) to stick in the thermal pads is a little bit crazy.

I think I might send it back to Amazon for a refund. Sorry EVGA, but my confidence is a bit dented.

Heard good things about the MSI 1070 - any other suggestions?

Palit's Jetstream/SuperJetStream is priced similar to the FTW and has hands down the best cooling solution. VRM temps are below 80 C at full load (!) and GPU as cool as the FTW. It has 1x 8 pin instead of 2x 8 pin, but on air you will get the same clocks out of it, generally. Also, they are all Samsung VRAM. The MSI Gaming X is also a good one, but more expensive in general and there is no real reason for it to be. Asus ROG Strix OC also a very solid cooling solution, same price level as the MSI. Note that the Palit has some fan spin-up issues but running constant 20% instead of 0db mode is inaudible anyway and removes that issue.

I'm on the fence between the MSI and Palit offerings, I may wait abit and hold on to my 780ti after all for a month or two, see what prices do.

I cant find the information if GTX 1070 SC Gaming is also affected with this issue?

If yes, I will send card back (got it from Amazon, so I have 30 days time to send back)
I just want to avoid to get problems in few months, because then I have to send the card for RMA and that will take time. For sure 3 weeks. I want live without PC so long

Perhaps, but I haven't seen a single Palit with Micron memory on it.

first 1080 I had was a palit jet stream that I returned to get the 1080ftw, then I returned that because of the black screen fan issue and got my classified....... just wish I kept the palit as it ran cooler and was still boosting to the same clocks as both my evga cards do . Also it dose not suffer from any of the problems were seeing on here..........

I heard this temperature problems, and I checked my EVGA card.
(EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0)
And I found some gap between the Memory and the thermal pad.

Well this is disappointing.

i have got the same problem too....
