Honestly, the most difficult part is being fastidious in cleaning all the surfaces with a quality cotton swab and high purity alcohol, 93%+  for the new pad location.

The stock pads will stick where they are needed. Honestly, it's like nVidia greases one side and leaves the other sticky?

Seriously, it's greasy!?

All the screws would be replaced and are designed to bottom out, torq levels not required.

Edit: As for torq levels, I would gently work from center, like a car tire star or as how EK suggested centering the block fist then the cooler and back plate last.

Hello everyone !

I just sent my 1080 FTW back to the resellers as my cards just caught fire 2 days ago.

As as i received my money backj from the resellers i planned to buy a new 1080 FTW and i was wondering, will i be ok ? or should i just change brand right now ? because i don't want to see my cards just burn again after 3 month ...

Well great. After much deliberation I finally buy a new graphics card to replace my 5+ years old HD6950 and this happens.
I would also like to request an official and thorough guide on how to install these thermal pads. Especially since I own 0 tools and do not have any sort of spare thermal paste or anything like that.

Hell, maybe the pads can be sent out in conjunction with that FREE* EVGA PowerLink™ that is being offered so I can avoid having to pay for shipping on that thing. ¬_¬

I agree 100% with this, EVGA messed up badly and needs to make it up to us.

I just tried to request the thermal pads for my 1070 SC. I get "YOU HAVE NO QUALIFIED REGISTERED PRODUCTS" in response. Just to confirm, the 1070 SC shouldn't have the same heat issues, right? I'm not wanting to melt my card (or house) because of improper cooling when I purchased this card specifically for its cooling.

I was able to submit my request for thermal pads, I have the 1070 SC registered on my account.

Hello,
First read the ram issue with Micron, now Overheating Issues, what is next coming..?
I give 600euro to my country for the 1070FTW and such a company Evga is, from the beginning they can't put the pads
for a cost 1-2 euro that costs for Evga and prefer to have a negative picture for the company? It's shame.
If someone can't put the pads or afraid to cause a damage to the card what happen then?
The easy solution for evga to provide us the pads and we take the responsible to damage or not, it's annoying me who paid 600euro.
EVGA if respect their customers, must recall and replace the cards with cards as it should be from the beginning (include the thermald pads).
If they can't, then give us the money back.

*Sorry for my english
