Also, the micron issue was an Nvidia issue. EVGA had no control over that unfortunately. Thankfully a bios update has been applied to help everyone that has micron memory.

Could you elaborate on that please?
Did Nvidia forced EVGA to use Micron memory? If not, is EVGA dependent on Nvidia regarding the VBIOS?

Probably not. He's a moderator, not an employee of EVGA or Nvidia. EVGA's comment from the product manager is that they use multiple memory suppliers depending upon whatever factors they deem appropriate. Yes EVGA was dependent upon Nvidia regarding the VBIOS. Remember, EVGA also has warranty for defects from Nvidia which would include a BIOS fix for this issue.
I'm not sure what you're trying to get at.

Nothing in particular, just wanted to be sure about this points.

Thank you EVGA, and Thank you Jacob. I submitted my request, as card was registered all I had to do was tick one box. That was it. 1 minute later a confirmation email.
This is what I call outstanding customer service.

I just tried to request the thermal pads for my 1070 SC. I get "YOU HAVE NO QUALIFIED REGISTERED PRODUCTS" in response. Just to confirm, the 1070 SC shouldn't have the same heat issues, right? I'm not wanting to melt my card (or house) because of improper cooling when I purchased this card specifically for its cooling.

When I try to order the thermal pads, my 1080 FTW does not show for selection after login. therefore I cant submit a request (tried Chrome, Firefox, and MS Edge). Is this offer only for US market? I Have previously managed to request a powerlink. Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Japan, and the page worked wonderfully. Didn't even need to write anything as card was registered. Got a confimation email right after.
I can only guess that the time you tried the server was overloaded, or something like that? I did it a few minutes ago using Chrome, just give it another go, should work soon, I hope. Sorry, not very helpful of me I know, but just to confirm it is NOT only the USA or Europe. Good luck!

So I have EVGA 1080 SC, have had it since July I haven't had any black screen crashes but this news worries me a bit.   Is this an issue that affects me or is it only on the non founders pcb layouts on the FTW and Classified cards?

A video showing how to take off the shroud and fan would be helpful, and where to put the pads exactly

It will be interesting on how EVGA handles this. I have broken down my card for optional cooling and that it is not really difficult, some people however are not wired for such a task.

It's a ton of screws and the TIM has to be separated and either just smooshed together and hope for the best or cleaned and reapplied?
