I had to re-engineer my cooling in my workshop this year..
12x GPU's Folding 24\7 sure adds some heat. and over 120 cores Crunching at the same time.. Oh Yeah, that adds some more heat..
Will take some photo's of my test setup and post them tomorrow. bedtime here in Switzerland....
Would be nice to see a Master Folder/ Cruncher set up!!!
OK, Here are a couple of photos and test setup of my workshop cooling.
On our Terrace, is about 8'c at the moment here, I have 3 HP servers. These will go into my workshop once I have run a new power circuit and build a shelf.
Top one is a HP DL580 G7 with 128Gb ram and Intel 2.4Ghz CPU's, 4x with 10 cores each, total 40 cores.
Middle one is a HP DL585 G7 with 128Gb ram and AMD 2.6Ghz CPU's, 4x with 12 cores each, total 48 cores.
Bottom one is a HP DL580 G5 with 32 Gb ram and Intel 2.93Ghz CPU's, 4x with 4 cores each, total 16 cores. Grand total 104 cores.
The test fan setup, I cut into the existing fresh air recirculation filter box, cut a 150mm hole, fitted some pipes, air is being pulled by a 500m2/h inline duct fan.
Made a sound absorber out of wood for this first test stage, worked a treat. The black 250mm pipe on the left are the ones I will build next week.
The pipes, sound absorbers and fan will be mounted up on the roof.
All the air is pulled out the window by 4x 150mm inline duct fans, mounted in a shelf the hold all my laser disks and other equipment.
I have 5 Folding computers, a mix of AMD and Intel all on ASUS motherboards, running SSD and AIO coolers.
I also Crunch on these, but always leave a core spare per GPU. Adds 18 more cores to Crunching.
5x EVGA GTX970's.
5x EVGA GTX 980ti's, one is a Hybrid.
2x EVGA GTX1080 FTW.
This one below with the 1080's installed is part of my Phobya dual motherboard case.
Hope that shows a little bit of the Folding and Crunching power..
