If I have an 8+6 pin Graphics card, am I forced to use an 8+6 pin input on the PowerLink?  Or can I use an 8+8 pin input from my PSU, and use the PowerLink as an adapter to the 8+6 pin graphics card?

Yes, the serial number is also on the box

I've learned long ago to snap a couple of digital pictures when building PCs.  Nice to find: firmware version, serial numbers, part numbers without having to disassemble

I bought my EVGA GTX 1080 FTW DT on Newegg, do I qualify for this?
