so much complaining when EVGA could just do like everyone else and say oh sorry you want an upgrade pay full price. EVGA is doing this because they are awesome, and its something only they offer.

Offering this deal will obviously come with an amount of buyer expectancy. So to counter an argument against rival manufacturers who don't facilitate this offer is somewhat antagonistic, especially when some have and are still waiting after 5 months.

This is from someone (me) that is currently in the S.U.P & really don't care when they get the email to step up...

Had I thought I would be waiting anywhere near 4 months I never would've done this. I figured a month, maybe two. Nobody can believe it when I tell them I've been waiting over 4 months, especially when they can go to any retailer and see them available for purchase. Shame on me for putting my trust in a company and thinking they would value customer satisfaction over profit. I was naive.

If I wouldn't suffer a massive loss by selling my 980ti and just buying a 1080 from Amazon or anywhere else at this point I would do so. But I can't afford the loss so they have me by the balls and my only recourse is to come here and make angry forum posts. Don't take that away from me candle_86, how dare you.

Well users who bought a last years model to only step-up is what is causing the Step-Up to be so slow.
Then the ones who bought the lower end card that was in Stock ATM to only step-up is the second reason for the Slow turn around.
I think a lot of users are Over Abusing The Step-Up Program.

How do consumers abuse a program with rules defined by the seller? We are trying to pay them MORE money. I can't imagine what motivation you have to come here and white knight for EVGA but it's disgusting.

As lebel eloquently stated there's an issue with buyer expectancy and clearly I'm not alone in being disappointed with where we're at.

It is meant for users who buy a card and that card is not meeting their needs and need a higher end or even a lower end card.
My self my last Step-Up only took 7 days, why did I need it, because the case I have in use the card would not fit as needed.
Had it fit I would not have Step-Up to a different card, I would have gotten a second card of the same type.
I am not say that You misaligned  are Abusing the Program.

It seems to me you are projecting your own interpretation of what the program is or isn't onto others. It is what is written on their step-up page. I contacted EVGA via chat to confirm the details of the program before I made my purchase and signed-up.

Your response suggesting we are abusing the program is antagonistic at best. The topic of this thread is the wait time involved in the program. Do you really think 4+ months is a reasonable wait time?

What I find most frustrating is these cards are available now and they are prioritizing shipments of them to retailers rather than prioritizing them to customers who committed to buying them months ago through the Step-Up program. I understood when nobody could get one, but now that I can pull up any given retailer and see cards in stock while I'm still waiting for months is very frustrating. The fact they hide our place in queue to further obfuscate things only adds to the frustration.

EVGA does a lot of good things which is why I came to them and bought one of their cards, but this handling of the Step-Up program isn't one of those good things. It's very disappointing.

+4 moths, for a program as this on a New Released Product, Yes I do.
You are not unable to use your computer and do what you need to do as your current card is working only not at the level you want it to be.
If you cannot wait any longer then look else where, Remember that as long a you are in the Program you are safe.
And their are no other companies that provide this type of Service or Program.
Can you Post the Model that you are Stepping up From and Stepping up To?
