If anyone wonders what a BTU is.
The
British thermal unit (
Btu or
BTU) is a traditional unit of
work equal to about 1055
joules. It is the amount of work needed to raise the temperature of one
pound of water by one degree
Fahrenheit. One four-inch wooden kitchen
match consumed completely generates approximately 1 Btu. In science and engineering, the joule, the
SI unit of energy, has largely replaced the Btu.
The Btu/h is most often used as a measure of
power in the
electric power,
steam generation,
heating, and
air conditioning industries. It is still used in some
metric English-speaking countries. In
North America, the heat value (energy content) of fuels is often expressed in Btus.
I can't seem to find if there is a set time frame to heat the water 1 deg.
I'll did into it later. Went to the Dr today and my back is a bit sore.
